Help ban 60 to 80 tonne lorries from our roads

The Department for Transport is currently reviewing whether to allow trials of longer and heavier lorries on UK roads. Sign a petition to ban these lorries from our roads.

The petition points out:

The lorries are up to 30 metres long, and weigh between 60 and 84 tonnes. The 60 tonner is 50% longer and over a third heavier than the 44 tonne lorries that already use our roads. They are totally unsuited to our roads on economic, environmental and especially safety grounds. We have enough lorries on our already congested roads, so use the alternative: put the traffic on the railways.

This petition is open until 31st July of next year
